Daniel Day-Lewis In Character As ‘Lincoln’
DreamWorks and Disney have released the first official photo of Daniel Day-Lewis in character as Lincoln, the feature directed by Steven Spielberg that opens in limited release November 9, expanding a week later. Another picture of Day-Lewis taken at a restaurant in Richmond, VA was posted widely last November. Lincoln also stars Sally Field, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tommy Lee Jones, John Hawkes, Hal Holbrook, James Spader, Tim Blake Nelson, David Strathairn, Jackie Earle Haley and David Oyelowo. Screenplay is by Tony Kushner based on the bestselling book Team Of Rivals by Doris Kerns Goodwin.
The resemblance is uncanny. (then again, he’s DDL)
Is the consensus finally clear that DDL is the Tom Brady of acting? He is a an out and out chameleon. I first saw him in, My Beautiful Launderette and because I wasn’t as familiar with his name then I had a hard time placing him in future roles as the same actor. That person there is the same person here?! A true artist if ever an actor could call himself that.
Sure, but only if PSH is Aaron Rodgers.
Save some time. Just give the man the Oscar now.
nothing about this movie gives any of us reason to think it will be good.
oh, except for all of the talent attached to it.
and the people working behind the camera.
and the promise that Abe Lincoln will drink Jefferson Davis’ milkshake.
Would it be okay to add just one new line to the Gettysburg Address?
Talk about a film with a pedigree just going in.
The academy shouldn’t even bother nominating four other actors against DDL.
This movie is going to kick EVERYONE’S butt and put Spielburg back on top-WAY up top!
Can’t wait to see this!!
Good luck, Abe. Hope you kills lots of Vampires.
No zombies in this one?
I just can’t root for something so obvious to win. Overload of jingoism from the Olympics? I’m gunning for “CLOUD ATLAS.”
Best Picture, Best Actor in a leading role and countless other accolades…. Cannot bloody wait.
Can he crush a Duff beer can against the side of his head like Rappin’ A.B.?
