Teamsters Strike Action Against ‘The Voice’ Averted: Tentative Pact With Local 399

UPDATE: A strike action against NBC‘s The Voice has been averted after Teamsters Local 399 and production execs reached a tentative agreement on transportation provided to the show. Some 200 Teamsters had been prepared to strike the production Monday morning but a tentative agreement was reached for Local 399 to provide union transportation for The Voice. Information Deadline reported Sunday that a contract had been signed was incorrect. The new season of The Voice is scheduled to begin September 10th.

    • Joe – The union acted because the production had 11 p.a.s driving vans carrying passengers at Universal Studios – a union lot. They get union wages now for the run of the show. They’re permits and likely won’t join the Union when the season is over. The Union doesn’t gain financially from this. You should probably withhold your stupid ass comments unless you understand the situation.

  • Joe, why such a negative comment? I do not understand how the production was able to carry non union drivers to begin with. Personally, I am happy to see our union “out in force”, I would have walked the strike line if needed. Probably would have been arrested, but I would have walked it. . .

  • the p.a. drivers do not make union wages first off. Why do you think they’re called p.a. drivers.
There is really no advantage for the p.a. drivers other than the simple fact they’re just working.
Anyone’s complaint should go production since
it’s clearly obvious they’re trying to save money on hiring non-union people.
I wonder if all those union people are working at the moment, maybe if they were they wouldn’t be arguing over it.
