  • Fantastico! Actors climbing up and making a way in the world. No overnight success here. Les has paid his dues. Congrats!

  • Pleased for Leslie but Sam needs better material – he was painfully dull last season…

  • I hope Bob Greenblatt can fix the show. I wonder why the show became so bad. Was it a network decision or Theresa Rebecks fault or both. What happened?

  • They fired Dev from the show. Hardly a spoiler.

  • In a related story, they added two new crewmen on the Titanic.

  • Smash producers and NBC are getting their EEOC on with the Black guy as a reg and the Latina. I say just bring back one of the most interesting characters in years – Ellis played by Jaime Cepero. And it appeared with Cepero many “safety” appeasement boxes could be checked.

    • I think you are literally the only person on the internet who has ever said anything positive about Ellis.

    • Kirk, you really need a hug. Do you think maybe they were made series regulars because they are good? It’s people like you that keep racism alive. So sad. Go see a real show on Broadway and see how diverse the cast is. Unlike what 95% of the shows on TV try to represent as “America”.

Glad for both of those kids. They are very good and deserve the recognition.

  • If they think that an interracial gay relationship is going to bring the masses back to NBC, they’re insane.

Totally applaud any show that wants to push the envelope especially on behalf of subsections of good people, but it does no good when the show and the network are in the toilet… and the action is going to put off many more people than viewers it brings.

NBC needs to start thinking strategically for once and then push the boundaries once back at the top.

  • I loved SMASH despite its flaws. Hope all the improvements make it a stronger drama. It is refreshing to have a series set somewhere other than a hopspital or police station or crime lab. I anticipate a six-months-later reboot and a different tone come midseason. Bring it on!
