NBC’s ‘Ready For Love’ Signs IATSE Pact

NBC’s Ready For Love matchmaking show is now under IATSE contract after coming to terms to avoid a threatened work stoppage, according to the union’s Facebook page. The union said producer Ticking Time Productions has signed an agreement providing for health and pension benefits retroactive to hiring dates for roughly 100 crew members who will also have “enhanced turnaround and weekend turnaround provisions.” According to the show’s website, it’s produced by Renegade 83, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment and Universal Television. Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives), Jason Ehrlich (The Bachelor, The Bachelorette), Greg Goldman (Secret Millionaire, Don’t Forget the Lyrics!), David Garfinkle and Jay Renfroe (both of Blind Date, The 5th Wheel) serve as executive producers on Ready For Love.

  • NBC’s ‘Ready For Love’ Host Talent Giuliana Rancic, as much as she’s already got going in life and work, she’s shown stamina that the general public should know about because it’s making the show that much more real. She;s displayed no sign of fatigue despite standing on high heels for more than 12 hours in a row. She’s more than cancer survivor with a long list of earned successes. She is the definition of strong person. With Tracy McMillan’s super open style and the concepts playing out as they are, Eva Longoria and the rest have a show that will make ratings-success history.

  • Now if only WGA, DGA and SAG/AFTRA could get their act together everyone could get paid a going rate for reality. WGA really let the producers down by letting them get fired from “America’s Next Top Model” and other shows.

    • Unfortunately the WGA will never be able to organize reality writers (and yes, there are writers; I’ve seen the outlines) until the membership drops its snobbish attitude. Screenwriters in particular are super-douchey about letting those dirty, dirty reality writers into _their_ guild. (Don’t say “union,” screenwriters think unions are dirty, too.)

And TV writers aren’t much better. I fault the WGA and its Board for not making organizing this area a priority and for not educating the membership better. It’s simple math for the WGA — it used to cover 98% of primetime TV, and now they cover around half. Until reality writers are WGA members, the WGA will remain weak.

  • Unfortunately, this is another one of those NBC trainwrecks that is going to see the cancellation bin sooner rather than later. The show is just stupid in concept and NBC is now going way overboard with the reality garbage along with this format being overly saturated as it is.

  • Wow, another Dating Reality Show… this is exactly what’s wrong with Hollywood. So the concept revolves around 3 guys and a bevy of wanna be, 15 minute fames seekers and a I’m sure there will be at least one full-out whore to make everyone else sick. I give it 3 episodes before it’s pulled off the air.

  • Why would the Rancic’s get involved in this type of show? They have always showed so much class. These dating show are just trashy!!! I always watched their reality show, but I won’t be tuning into this one.
