Lindsay Lohan’s Car Crash Delays Filming On Lifetime’s ‘Liz & Dick’

Lindsay Lohan Car AccidentFour days into production, Lifetime‘s Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton biopic Liz & Dick starring Lindsay Lohan has made its first Lohan-related tabloid headline after the actress was involved in a car crash today on Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica. She was on her way to the set of the movie, which had been scheduled to begin filming at 2:30 PM in Malibu. Lohan, who plays Elizabeth Taylor in Liz & Dick, was hospitalized along with her lone passenger, an assistant, after colliding with an 18-wheeler, according to TMZ. After an evaluation, she was released and is believed to be on her way back to the set. Production was suspended while Lohan was being treated as she was slated to do the scenes that had been set up. It is unclear why it was Lohan behind the wheel and not her assistant or a driver from the production.

  • My money is on her checking her texts despite having her assistant beside her.

  • It never ends with her, does it. She needs to get away for a long time. She will be welcomed back if she takes the time she needs to heal and pull herself together.

    • Are you just assuming she was driving recklessly and was under the influence of anything?

  • Why was Lohan driving and not her assistant – it says the assistant was the passenger.

And did anyone really expect anything less from her. I mean really, why does this town, if you can call Lifetime a part of this town, continue to give her chances???

    • Why does anybody want to drive?

Anything less of her? Why are you immediately blaming the accident on her? The article doesn’t say anything about her being on the influence of of something or she was speeding.

  • Nice try, Lindsey, but you’re poison to a legitimate project. I look forward to your sex tape, your reality show, your Comedy Central celebrity roast and infomercial for food dehydrators.

  • Exactly what they expected when they hired her. A trainwreck. No one cares about this project – only reason anyone even KNOWS about it is b/c this nightmare is in it. So they got themselves some great free press. I just pray that the “assistant” has a good family who will tell their daughter to get away from this person asap. No one needs money badly enough to die for it. The assistant is lucky she is alive and should run as far away from this person as possible.

  • It was NOT an accident. It was research work for her next acting role, on the Lifetime movie, Pier & Jim, about the relationship between actress Pier Angeli and James Dean.

Lohan, who got the James Dean part, decided to go Method on this one and crash a Porsche.

    • Assistants don’t drive – they fetch and take notes. Teamsters drive – always. There are Town Cars (and Hummers, and Range Rovers, and…) which pick up actors and bring them to set, driven by Teamsters – always – and bond insurance insists on it. This incident is a prime example of why stars don’t drive themselves during a film production. In the first place, the cars are provided, so they don’t have to. Whomever allowed Lindsay to drive herself to set, in a rented Porsche no less – which she’s not accustomed to – is an ass. Or a very savvy producer.

I’d love to know who rented the Porsche…
