‘The Client List’ Renewed For Season 2

Client List Lifetime RenewedA month into its run, Lifetime’s new Jennifer Love Hewitt drama series The Client List has been renewed for a second season with a 15-episode order, up from 10 for Season 1. The pickup was expected following the series’ strong ratings start. Client List opened with 2.8 million viewers April 8 to log Lifetime’s most-watched series debut since the 2009 premiere of Drop Dead Diva (which also averaged 2.8 million viewers), and the second-largest premiere viewership in the last 5 years behind the 2007 launch of Lifetime’s flagship drama Army Wives. Client List‘s premiere viewership total was even more impressive given that the series debuted on Easter night with lower HUT levels and strong cable competition. Last week, the Hewitt starrer was the No. 1 drama on basic cable among adults 18-49. “The Client List represents everything we want to be — fresh, exciting and original with attitude,” Lifetime president and GM Nancy Dubuc said.

Client List, which originated as a TV movie before being turned into a series, tells the story of Texas housewife Riley Parks (Hewitt) who, after being deserted by her husband, takes a job at a seemingly traditional day spa only to learn that sexual favors are being offered there on the side. Conflicted at first, she seizes the opportunity and takes the job, balancing two starkly different lives — one as a single mom in a conservative town struggling to provide for her family and the other as a masseuse working with a rowdy and unpredictable group of women. Client List co-stars Cybill Shepherd, Loretta Devine and Colin Egglesfield (Something Borrowed). It is executive produced by Hewitt, John Tinker, Jordan Budde, Efrem Seeger, Howard Braunstein and Dannielle Thomas, with Hewitt’s Fedora Films and Jaffe/Braunstein producing in association with Sony Pictures TV.

  • Everything today is about sex and sex and sex. What about music? I used to think that music was more important than sex, I did, and then I realized that if I don’t hear a concert for a year-and-a-half, it don’t matter…

  • I am so glad this show came out. Its about time, the women are beautiful, they have every day struggles that people go through and put a bit of spice in it with hot bodies, sexy attitudes, and great actors/actress. The mother on here is what this show needs for her trials and tribulations. The brother to sweep Riley off her feet and a mom finding herself with her son. Can’t get any better then this. Love, Love, Love the Client List

  • Totally agree. And they should get GREG GRUNBERG on the show as a regular character. I just love everything he’s in.

  • The he Client list is so successful is because you have people who can perform the subject matter into a wonderful program without condoning the parts they play.If that was the way it was you would have to get rid of every fallen from grace movie/series ever made.Any subject on tv is only powerful as the performers behind it.Keep in mind that it is fiction.I personally feel the Kardashians need to keep their secrets off the air but hey that;s their perogative. Me I enjoy the show but at my age I’ve seen it before starring Dolly Parton back in the 80′s so forgive if I’m not offended by an update

  • If you don’t like it then don’t watch it. People obviously like watching. These shows because they are intertaining. Why dose it seem that people are becoming more and more negative.

  • The shows on TV such as The Client List is not supposed to taken as reality. Yes, it does happen in life. The show is just showing what Riley did when she had to work and feed her family. Jennifer Love Hewitt is excellent in this series. As she was in Ghost Whisperer. I am happy to see season 2 is coming with 15 episodes. Good Luck to the cast and crew of the client list, and many more seasons to come. And for those of you who don’t like the show, don’t watch and glue your eyes to your nook instead.Everyone else who likes this show, myself included, keep watching on TV or online.
