  • I think Gilliian is a great actress but outside of The X-Files I’ve never seen her in any appealing role other than Johnny English Reborn – she was naturally gorgeous and funny in that . Loved “The Mighty” – detested Gillian’s role (just ROLE..not the entire performance…in my opinion she would have done a much better job in the female lead than Sharon Stone.) I thought Gillian was very restricted in this. “Straightheads” didn’t do it for me either – although I’m sure most male X-File fans would have been salivating at an unclad GA. “How to lose friends & alienate people” – again…didn’t show off her real talent at all. I’m yet to see “Get Expectations”…but I’m hoping for some of those. Incredibly talented lady – just wish more of her work got exposure in Australia.

    • I agree alot of work has not shown off her greatest talents, but I’d suggest checking out her performance in Bleak House and Great Expectations as I’m sure you will.

  • As I continue to observe fine movies & theater over these last 20 plus years as an international club critique, I find Gillian, now in her early 40′s, to be a time-bomb of potential capability awaiting just the right part and the smart person who will place her in a role that will emerge her as the new Meryl Streep combined with Judi Dench and Maggie Smith all rolled into one. She has grown immensely in her acting and is now in the stage of her life where she can open up to all those possibilities. For the sake of an ever boaring Hollywood with its endless film rebriths, let’s hope so. As for theater, it has much to look forward to with this one.

  • When Gillian moved to England all the women on the A List in Hollywood jumped for joy.
They would not have to complete & lose against her in trying to get those Oscar worthy roles.
We in the US don’t get to see much of her & alas those of us who held such confident of seeing her win an Oscar doubt it will come to past. Why?
Because she will never get those types of roles living there.
    Come home.
