Vancouver High Schooler Gets Dream Role In ‘Percy Jackson’ Sequel
Here’s a nice story that shows Hollywood is still a Dream Factory. Paloma Kwiatkowski has been cast as Thalia in Fox 2000’s Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Sea Of Monsters, the Thor Freudenthal-directed sequel. The film shoots in Vancouver, which will be convenient for Kwiatkowski, since she is a high school student there who got the role after her very first audition. She signed for one picture, with options for two more where, if the series continues, her character takes on a greater level of importance. Her reps tell me Kwiatkowski will finish high school, where she is captain of her improv team and will be heading to the National Championships in Ottawa next month. She is represented by Canadian agent Carrie Wheeler, manager Darren Goldberg, and attorney Neil Meyer. Karen Rosenfelt, Chris Columbus, Mark Radcliffe and Michael Barnathan are producing.
Thats nice. She looks a bit like chloe moretz.
I wonder who she’s playing. Clarice? Or Rachel Elizabeth Dare, perhaps?
It says Thalia in the article.
She’s Playing Thalia Grace, Zeus’s Daughter. Hence forth the reason the article said “Paloma Kwiatkowski has been cast as Thalia in Fox 2000’s Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Sea Of Monsters
The smile and mouth looks a little like Jennifer Love Hewitt, no?
I’m guessing, though, that if she has an agent and a manager, it’s not like they plucked her from a Vancouver mall and said, “Hey kid, ever thought about being in pictures?”
She could very well have gotten her representation (definitely the attorney) after landing the gig.
. it was her first audition, and yes, she got her reprrsentation after she landed the role. shes just an incredibly talented young girl who got her first acting job off of her first ever audition. ive known her for a couple years now and could not be prouder
It was her first audition and yes they did plucked her, maybe not from Vancouver mall, though. She is an incredibly talented girl . Her mother and I grew up together behind the “Iron Courtain “, and we know each other since the age of two. I can assure you that Paloma has landed that part due to her talent exlusively .
“dream role” implies landing a role in a movie that’s actually good. not in percy jackson part II.
Yeah, but pretty damn good for a high school kid. Take another Xanax.
She was discovered in her Highschool Drama class. This was her first audition ever!
Since the first one was barely profitable, why go ahead with a needless second?
Cause they want to make money. Since the whole multiple young adult book series thing is gaining traction they are hoping the sequel will be more successful and lead to making the other 5 books there are.
Yes, the Hollywood Dream is alive and well…in every place OTHER than Hollywood itself
She’s confirmed to play Thalia-
