Hot Trailer: ‘The Dark Knight Rises’

Here’s Warner Bros‘ third and final theatrical trailer for The Dark Knight Rises before the movie opens July 20. As expected the trailer will have prime theatrical positioning in front of Disney-Marvel’s The Avengers when that hotly anticipated movie officially kicks off summer season late Thursday/early Friday.

  • As someone else said a while back – ‘I’m going to experience this so HARD’. :D

  • Portentous and pretentious! Mythology for a spiritually dead country.

    • Settle down, this is uniquely dense and clearly what the audience is asking for. What we can admire most is the rare restraint on display here – the adult tone instantly sets this apart from its genre. In stark contrast to the overstated copy (the “Epic Conclusion” fanfare and now “Hope is lost, faith is broken, a fire will rise).”

Bane’s obvious ADR aside, here’s hoping Hathaway delivers. Compelling women are consistently absent in Nolan’s films, and Pfeiffer’s Catwoman was one for the ages.

      • I share your hope… loving everything about this but Anne Hathaway. Marion Cotillard would have made a better (French) Catwoman…why AH!?!? Prometheus has this beat by a mile with Noomi Rapace and Charlize Theron.

  • This wasn’t the trailer we wanted, but maybe it is the trailer that we deserved.

  • Looks like the best of the three. Which isn’t saying much.

    • What? In what way is that not saying much?

    • Totally. Man, it’s just too bad WB didn’t get “Ben” to make this film. At least they could have asked “Ben” to consult on the script, right? Troll.

    • So dissing Nolan’s Batman movies has now become hip, I guess. I love this contrarian, hipster mentality. It’s so obvious. The Batman movies have been critical and box office successes, but because they’re now deemed “too admired”, people think it’s cool to hate them.

  • Great trailer but it reveals too much. Bruce Wayne is going to die and Joseph Gordon Levitt is going to take over.

Just look at the trailer for The Dark Knight. They practically show you that Harvey Dent will become Two Face.

    • I wasn’t aware that Harvey Dent becoming Two Face was such a big secret.

  • Dame, I forgot she was in it. Would have been better without Hathaway.
