I thought it was funny especially since SS has been slammed recently. Maybe he’s just enjoying life and not taking it too seriously anymore. Life’s too short!

Despite what you might think of the skit itself (I’ll agree, it wasn’t that funny), at least Spielberg is enough of a good sport to put himself in something fun and self-depricating.
It shows that despite his success, he’s kept his sense-of humor.
But the skit? Could have been better. But then again, it was LASER-CATS, so what do you want??
In one word?
Funny! That’s what I want from SNL.
Thought it was one of the worst digital shorts I’ve seen.

Still more proof that Lorne should be fired he no longer knows what’s funny. He’s too old he’s no longer young and hip. The really funny sketches never make it to air Lorne kills them at the table read. Spielberg has a great sense of humor about his own image he’s always happy to poke fun at himself but he should have been given something actually you know hilarious or at least mildly funny to be in. Laser Cats is symptomatic of the death of comedy at SNL and it can all be blamed on Lorne. NBC should have fired him 10 years ago but apparently they will never fire him they are too afraid to force him out so SNL will continue to suck it’s no longer watchable that’s how bad it is now.

Well give examples of these amazing skits that get cut. Did you write them? I’m with “nerd” on this.
First off, you’re dumb. To accuse Lorne of not knowing comedy is like accusing Obama of not being American: Only a moron would do it.
Second: Bob Greenblatt aint afraid of shit. If he thought it were the right move he’d fire Michaels in a heart beat. The guy is tough as nails and has absolutely no loyalty to the guy.
Third: If you don’t like SNL, don’t watch it. Enough people think it’s funny that they really don’t need dumb shit industry wanabes who seek self-importance in the deadline comment section to tune in.

If this article was about how Steven refused to be part of an SNL skit, you all would be calling him a poor sport who takes himself too seriously.
The concept of people on the Internet always trying to put those down with the most success is simply mind boggling to me. You see it in every Cameron article, too. Heck, you even see it in Scorsese articles. “Fans” mad that he made a “kids” movie. And boy do they never let a chance for telling us slip by them. When the comments become this predictable, they’re officially a cliche.
Every time I see blind Spielberg hate, I always think about the end of his masterpiece A.I. He foresees the entire human race become extinct like any other lost species we know about. The only fragments left of us humans are mere memories from a synthetic, frozen in ice. And after getting what info they can while observing him, the super mechs shut the boy off for all eternity.
Boy, what a happy ending! Wait, what? You see, on the internet, good is bad. Up is down, left is right. Some people want to be such a contrarian that they refuse to see anything else. They simply can’t imagine an unhappy ending in a Spielberg film (despite the fact that it’s really not all that commen) Would you abondan your wife and kids to go traveling with aliens? Don’t answer that. Of course you’ll say yes…
I would never participate in “Spielberg hate,” mainly because I don’t hate him…I admire him greatly. In fact, I think he’s one of the greatest, smartest and most talented filmmakers of all time. That being the case, if he’s going to appear in a Saturday Night Live sketch, I want it to be excellent, memorable, worth watching again and again. This one was not.
I would love to be as “desperate” as Spielberg. I mean, with the billions in the bank, the critical acclaim, the awards…sheesh that guy must be running on empty!
This was hilarious. Not sure why the negative headline.
I found the skit to be very “Hitchcockian.”
That was called having fun. Try it some time.
They may have been having fun… But they should try sometime… to entertain.
