SNL: How Desperate Is Steven Spielberg?

He cameos once, twice, many times in this SNL Digital Short that truly sucks:

  • I also blame him for the problems at Smash. So many good NY actors drowning in an American Idol vehicle conceived as Glee without the comedy. The plots are Spielbergy, like in the lamentable Terra Nova. NBC is loyal to these questionable producers, and the results can be terrible or smart. NBC’s fealty to Lorne Michaels explains 30 Rock.

  • Why do you think it sucks? Do you think Nitro was too green to be promoted to general?

    • ZING! Doctor Timebomb. Nikki, I’m sorry. You got this wrong. It shows that Steven doesn’t take himself too seriously. James Cameron made the same cameo.

    • These folks just think he’s gone soft. That’s why he kept the original ending for Close Encounters in.

“What about your wife and kids?”
      “F**k ‘em”

  • The big takeaway from this is that Lorne Michaels has had really weird stuff done to his face.
