Jennifer Aniston Circling ‘We’re The Millers’

UPDATE: Am now being told by sources close to Jason Sudeikis that he’s more than circling the male lead as I reported below.

EXCLUSIVE: Jennifer Aniston is circling We’re The Millers, the New Line comedy about a pot dealer who pulls together a fake wife and two kids to pose as an RV road-tripping family so that he can smuggle 1000 pounds of pot cross country. Dodgeball‘s Rawson Thurber is directing. Aniston is in talks to play the fake wife, who’s actually a hooker. Her Horrible Bosses costar Jason Sudeikis is eying the role of the family patriarch (he’s the pot smuggler). The kids are juvenile delinquents. The raunchy comedy, described as a “warped Vacation,” has a script by Wedding Crashers scribes Bob Fisher & Steve Faber, and the film’s produced by David Heyman, Happy Walters, Vince Newman and Tucker Tooley, with Benderspink exec producing. Aniston is coming off Wanderlust, and she’s repped by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.

She is separately attached to star in an an untitled comic heist thriller written and to be directed by Justin Theroux. Aniston, Theroux and Jerry Weintraub are producers. Aniston and Theroux became a couple after they worked together on Wanderlust.

  • She needs to stop with these comedies and get working on The Goree Girls. Jen isn’t getting any younger. It’s Oscar time!

    • I LOVE The Goree Girls script. Aniston should produce and let go of her need to act in it. She’s way too old for the part.

      • The Goree Girls is one of my favorite scripts of all time. Aniston should step out and let it happen with other actresses. There are parts for Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Hudson, Anne Hathaway, Kristen Chenoweth, Kristin Wiig.

        • With the success of The Help why doesn’t Dreamworks make The Goree Girls? Let Aniston be a producer.

        • I’m the nephew of one of the Goree girls. Any way I could get a peek at that script? I’ve been hanging on with this for almost 10 years now.

    • She’s afraid to play a part that asks her to change her hair. She should stop holding the script hostage and let it get made.
The only reason it hasn’t been made is because of her.

      • Huge fan of Goree Girls! I’ve kept that script in my favorites pile for so long.
These movies Aniston chooses are all the same. I think she must not be that into the whole acting thing.
Is there any chance Goree could be made? Who has the rights?

        • Directors love the script but when they find out Aniston is attached won’t meet. The part is beyond her limited skill set.

  • “We’re the Millers” sounds like it was written with Jennifer in mind.

Any chance, as she is a hooker, that Jennifer might be shedding her clothes? The clock is ticking.

  • she always picks the same kind of roles – comedies where she can be safely sexy but never anything daring or brave. come on, Jen, take a risk for once. you’ve got enough money now, haven’t you?

    • No, no, you don’t get it. She’s playing a hooker, so plan on the skirts being way shorter with cleavage and nipple galore! No safely sexy here. Uh-uh. This is a daring stretch of Aniston’s talent!

    • Thought she was topless in The Good Girl, or was that a double?

  • Are these the only roles Aniston is being offered, or is she actually seeking out this dross? It’s not like she needs the money when taking on these worthless roles.

  • Wasn’t she a fake wife in Just Go With It as well? Her movies all start to blend together.

Justin sure is taking full advantage of this relationship. Almost like he is using her to get ahead in Hollywood. Wanderlust bombed, so not sure it is a good idea to team up again.

    • I wonder if you thought the same thing when Jolie doubled her asking price after hooking up with Brad Pitt. Remember, she followed Tomb Raider with five years worth of bomb after bomb and was on her way out the door when he conveniently came along.

Sure Theroux is more known now but he co-wrote Tropic Thunder, wrote Iron Man 2, adapted Rock of Ages and was set to direct the Zoolander sequel from a script he wrote BEFORE Aniston came along. Plus, he’s got an animated show in development at Fox that Aniston has nothing to do with. You guys act like he’s some unemployed waiter who just caught his first break.

      • um Mike what does Jolie have to do with what that poster wrote…not everyone who criticizes Aniston is a fan of Jolie and vice versa..get over it..its been 7 years move on

      • lol on her way out the door…puleez if Nicole Kidman and Halle Berry can still get movie roles what makes you think Jolie would not have been hired for any movies, heck Aniston has yet to carry a movie on her own and somehow she still gets roles..and fyi Jolie was slated to star in the Good Shepard before her and Pitt officially hooked up and DeNiro personally picked her..instead of worrying about Jolie how bout you go support Wanderlust which was a total FLOP

        • Did anyone actually see The Good Shepard? No, no they didn’t. Unless it’s an action movie where she barely has any dialogue, basically the Tomb Raider role over and over again, Jolie can’t carry a movie to save her life. See Taking Lives, Original Sin, Beyond Borders, Life or Something Like It, Mighty Heart and the underperforming Tourist. Her supporting role work isn’t much better. See Alexander, Sky Captain and the aforementioned Good Shepard. Her biggest hits are the animated films where no one has to see her, so yeah, I guess that makes her a big movie star. LOL.

The reality is that most of these people bomb more than they have hits. That is true of Aniston and that is true of Jolie. As well as Matt Damon and George Clooney. When was the last time either one of them made any actual money for anyone?

          • Wow you spewed a lot of words to take a swipe at Angie. Who has NOTHING TO DO WITH JENNIFER ANISTON’s BO success or failure

But Angie is in good company. Maybe you should research Meryl, Kate, Anne, Cate, Halle, Charlize, Nicole, and countless others and look at their BO totals.

I think Angie’s “FLOPS” have done better than most. YOUR comment was very obvious. But I guess you and the other JA fans need to go there to support your girl. Good for you. And what film exactly has Jennifer Aniston EVER carried on her on to any BO success?

Yeah… that slate is still empty

          • Give it a rest. One has nothing to do with the other. When are you people going to LET IT GO!!!

            Comment by Jane — Tuesday April 10, 2012 @ 4:41am PDT
          • So the Good Shepard made $0 at the box office according to you. Yes people saw the Good Shepard. People see all her films.

The Tourist made $278,346,189 worldwide, how is that underperforming. Salt made $293,503,354 worldwide on Angelina’s name alone, no big male lead to support her. It was a new story with no built in book fans.

Angelina is a big movie star, whether you like it or not.

      • That’s totally incorrect. Jolie’s asking price was already $10+ million per movie BEFORE she and Pitt got together. She made $10 million for Mr. & Mrs. Smith so that’s a “DUH!” She later doubled her asking price on the basis of hit films and being able to open a movie – just like Leo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, Will Smith, Pitt, et. al. have double and tripled their asking prices after delivering at the box office.

On the other hand, Aniston has never had a hit film on her own merit. Has she been in OTHER PEOPLE’S HITS? Yes – Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Jim Carrey. You could have put an orangutan in Aniston’s role and the movies still would have been hits. She’s been also been in hits based on multi-million selling books – including Marley & Me which was on the NY Times Best Sellers list for about 5 years. She wasn’t even featured in the trailers for that movie and again, an orangutan could have played her role and it still would have been a hit.

  • And again she is paired with someone way more talented. Never the leading role. Same old same old..

Jerry must be going batty.. why would he back these two people that could not muster a BO of over 20 million. Well it’s his money to throw away.
