Fox To Air ‘Married…With Children’ Pilot

As part of its 25th anniversary celebration on Sunday April 22, Fox will rebroadcast the pilot for the comedy series that put the then-fledging network on the map, Married…With Children, along with the 500th episode of its longest-running series, The Simpsons. The two will air from 7-8 PM, leading to Fox’s two-hour 25th anniversary special, which will feature the Married cast.

  • speaking of the Simpsons, Hope F.B.C. invited Tracey Ullman, which started “The Simpsons” as Cartoon Vinettes that tossed her “Tracey Ullman Show” to and from Commercial break. Even cooler would be to have Tracey Ullman to guest voice on that episode with her former castmates. Which of course, have always voiced The Simpsons for all these years.
Yes thats right, FOX was originally called FBC as Joan Rivers signed it on-air back in ’87.

  • To celebrate the 25 th anniversary , this summer instead of re-running all the current shows they should recreate the original programming blocks from the first 3 months on the air. Yes I’m serious, and I know it would never happen.

  • Not a bad idea at that. However, wsn’t there a show called “Beans Baxter” to be the first to ever air on this network back in 1986?

    • It wasn’t the first, jed. MWC debuted on April 5, 1987, while the new adventures of bean baxter debuted on July 18, 1987.

  • Tracey should DEFINITELY be part of this Fox celebration. As noted by the above commenter,The Simpsons began as this little thing as her show. It’s amazing how successful this show has become when you consider its’ origin were on her show. If you ask most teens they’d have no idea who Tracey was, yet, most have grown up watching characters which had their genesis on her sketch/variety program. In fact-the entire Tracey Ullman show should be recognized on the special as well. I have fond memories of that show. I wonder if House of Buggin’ (John Leguizamo’s Fox variety/sketch comedy show) will be included in the celebration clips? He made me laugh my ass off so many times,he truly did.
